Thanks DigitalRev Sometimes the simplest pictures are the hardest to get. The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera. Photographs that transcend but do not deny their literal situation appeal to me. Photography by nature is spiritual, considering it comes from the darkness to show the light. Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it. Photography is more than a medium for factual communication of ideas. It is a creative art. To look at a thing is very different from seeing it. We are making photographs to understand what our lives mean to us. You can expand your reality by developing new ways of perceiving. Great photography is about depth of feeling, not depth of field.
Photographer Chase Jarvis has just released a new book entitled - “The Best Camera Is The One That’s With You” iPhone Photography by Chase Jarvis. It’s his latest bok filled with nothing but photos from the passed year taken with his iPhone. He used a 3g, no autofocus on the guy. So if I hear one more person complain about the quality of the iPhone camera, so help me …. |
